Buildings of the Future – A vision of healthy, sustainable, optimised indoor spaces; that use no more energy than is absolutely necessary
Alan is a leading authority figure within the lighting industry because of his broad knowledge in intelligent lighting and networked buildings, and years of management and leadership experience. Alan’s interest and passion is people, the environment, wellbeing, lighting, technology, and choice.
With over 25 years of experience in the lighting industry Alan is a true specialist in the application and impact of intelligent lighting and has been involved in many of the worlds landmark projects.
Alan is now working internationally to educate and demonstrate the positive impact of intelligent lighting solutions and interoperable building services on health and wellbeing as well as building efficiencies, and to broaden the understanding and accelerate the uptake of Intelligent Lighting in buildings.
This session is relevant for architects, building designers, facility managers, and anyone involved in the planning, design, and management of buildings. It is also valuable for individuals interested in the intersection of technology, sustainability, and human well-being within indoor environments.
You are going to learn about…
Buildings that are designed for people, that have intelligent lighting systems and interoperable services are able to make the workplace more comfortable, more productive, more healthy; they sense the environment and work with you to optimise the internal space….whatever the task, whatever the activity.
In this session we will discuss how intelligent lighting, smart sensing, interoperable building services and wellbeing, are intrinsically linked. We will show how, by making the right choices, intelligent and interoperable systems are able to reduce energy consumption, improve efficiency and positively impact productivity, health and wellbeing.
We will also look at how we can future proof our buildings using the industry standards and the latest technology, and take a peek into the future to see how we are innovating to make the link between lighting solutions and environmental sensing to provide beautiful, functional, adaptable indoor spaces that support and prioritize health and wellbeing to drive human performance, innovation and creativity.
