Quality in the lighting chain

Future Lighting is the Dutch-Belgian lighting event in Gorinchem on 19 & 20 November 2025. Together with industry organisations NSVV, Groen Licht Vlaanderen, IBE-BIV & Fedet | NLA, we are setting up a rock-solid knowledge programme. These are scientific sessions that focus on the function of light and the effect of light on the well-being of humans and animals.

With this knowledge, lighting designers, architects, consultants, facility managers and building managers walk straight into the expo. Here, 75 exhibitors are eager to present their latest lighting solutions and to enter into a dialogue about the future of lighting.

Ben jij op zoek naar écht bruikbare handvatten, waardevolle lessen, nieuwe inspiratie én nieuw

Are you looking for truly useful tools, valuable lessons, new inspiration and new contacts? During Future Lighting we offer you this and more.

Experts from the lighting industry climbed the stage on Wednesday 22 and Thursday 23 November 2022 and showed what is possible with light. Think of: how do you use light for data communication? What risk does a disrupted light-dark cycle have on health problems later in life? How do you let electric lighting compensate for the lack of daylight in the right way? But also what can we learn from light generation in nature?

In addition to leading knowledge sessions, we also offered an expo: exhibitors and partners who offer the best solutions. Future Lighting is not a traditional trade fair, but a focused conference for the lighting industry and a selection of the most leading suppliers of lighting solutions.

Future Lighting is a new event that had its first edition in 2022. And an immediate success. Exhibitors rated this edition with an 8.3. Visitors were satisfied with their introduction to the latest developments, trends and innovations.

e contacten?

Themes

Future Lighting 2022 is linked to a two-day knowledge program with ample attention for the latest lighting trends. The sessions are for lighting designers and architects on the one hand and installers on the other. The knowledge program with twenty sessions of half an hour is structured around the following themes:

Light & Architecture

Light & Architecture

Good light enhances architecture. That is why it is essential for architects and lighting designers to work together. The starting point is that light is an integral part of architecture and must be included in the lighting design. For the well-being of the user, light is an important component for health and productivity, in addition to interior, colour and shape.

Light & Quality

Light & Quality

The quality of lighting is guaranteed by standards and guidelines. Lighting designers and installers must know the guidelines and be able to apply them well. Technology makes the use of lighting more flexible, targeted and intelligent. How do guidelines and intelligent lighting relate to each other?

Light & Health

Light & Health

What is the influence of light colours on the biological clock? This question will be addressed in the conference programme. The question of how to deal with the nuisance that artificial light can cause to flora, fauna and humans will also be addressed. This must be dealt with in the right way. Leaving out light is also a form of quality.

Science & Research

Science & Research

Technical universities annually educate a large number of ‘light’ students. They conduct research, write scientific publications and obtain their PhDs. But what are they doing? What new insights are there among these young dogs who could possibly become the new ‘Wout van Bommel’ and ‘Peter Hanselaar’?
